How does the front strap work? Looks like it is in the way to put rod in. Pivots? Also does this pull out if and leave the bracket on boat if I want to put the boat cover on. Leave tracks right where they are? Darryl Lindquist asked on February 23, 2024

its is a rubber strap that easily removes when not needed to remove your rod and reel.
Yes, The Rod holder comes out of the StarPort, with the click of a switch, so your boat cover will fit.
