DIY Rod Storage For Car Interior

Transporting fishing rods inside the car can be a hassle, one product in the range from RAILBLAZA that has proven to be a great solution for the organisation of rods inside the car is the RodRak Fishing Rod Storage Solution.

In this blog, Gerard Hawthorne from VIC Australia shares just how easy and affordable this DIY solution is. Gerard has also made good use of other RAILBLAZA accessories in this solution.

Costs of the whole interior car rod storage was approx $80 AUD, I already had RAILBLAZA accessories like ScreenGrabba tablet holder and Nav Light. I  relocate the TracLoader StarPorts from my kayak track for these to attach to the roof storage. Build time for someone that only owns 2 power tools less than 1 hour including watching paint dry

Parts needed

  • 2 bits of 8mm timber
  • black spraypaint
  • black gaffer tape
  • 2x RodRack Pairs
  • Expanda Track (RAILBLAZA part if using TracLoader StarpPorts for other RAILBLAZA accessories)

The RodRak is an expandable fishing rod storage system for hanging your rods from any vertical or horizontal surface.

The RodRak was designed for exactly this kind of creative thinking, the stackable design lends itself well to creating your own fishing rod storage solution either on the boat, in the garage or shed like you see in the below options from other RAILBLAZA users

David simply used wood, cutting and shaping it to lock in between the anchor points on the interior of the roof. A quick layer of paint and then screwed RodRak to the wood stacking them as many as could fit in this space. Read more here
