The mount is not going to be specific from boat to boat, I recommend taking some measurements of your boat, you need two flat spots for the starport hd's or two flat wall panels that have inner access so you can hard mount it using sideports. As long as you have the room and capacity for it you can install it.
It is recommended to be used as advertised. Putting a motor or trolling motor on any mount causes a lot of torque.
Yes, It will
You can install it anywhere you would like that make sense for your application. I can't say how the boat will handle mounting it in the middle tho.

Just starting to assemble motor mount. Instructions are fine up to mounting the last fastner to the kayak. The screws etc. are inappropriate for placing the last fastner to a kayak. You can’t get a nut on a screw in a closed body of kayak. I am going to try threaded wood screws to fasten the last piece to the kayak to be able to insert the double male cylinder. Instructions on this last part of the installation are non-existent. Please reach out to me by phone or by e-mail for instructions. Thank you, Oz
I have not used this bracket yet, but I have looked over the quality and instructions and found them very good.
The plastic knob and corresponding bolt would not go together. Wrong bolt/thread size. Called the company and they are shipping me a new set.
the mount is very sturdy. assembly was not super easy though. and the cost is fairly high!
